A HISTORICAL RESIDENCE FEATURING NEW TECHNOLOGY

This project featured a substantial residence, parts of which date back to the 15th Century. Our client wanted to completely update and extend the main house. This involved the creation of a new 500 sq ft basement in which he wanted a dedicated cinema and games room for his young family.

The cinema had to appeal to the whole family and their friends. Our client is a keen sports fan and his children love computer games so the cinema had to work well for multiple sources, not just movies. Adjacent to the cinema is a Games Room with a pool table and tennis table, as well as a 65″ plasma with surround sound. The Cinema Room and the Games Room needed to work either as independent or combined spaces. When combined the same movies or video source would be played simultaneously in both rooms allowing the maximum capacity of people to be entertained in one sitting. As an independent room the Cinema needed to work as a snug, intimate place for just the family or close friends when watching the movies.
