SMC's Highgate Cemetery project has won yet another award. This time the 'Home Sweet Home Cinema' award in the UK Integration Awards from Crestron.

The Crestron Integration Awards are given to those dealers who have truly embraced Crestron Total Home Technology and all its possibilities.

Crestron said: "An incredible installation for a home situated in a cemetery. In making this award, the judges recognised SMC’s achievement in overcoming considerable challenges to deliver a truly stunning and fully integrated home, all driven from touch screen Crestron control."

SMC's Highgate Cemetery project won 'Best integrated home over £250,000' the most prestigious of all the 2008 CEDIA Awards.

The winners of the CEDIA Awards 2008 were announced at a glittering ceremony on Friday 9 May, which took place at Vinopolis, London. Suzi Perry, from Channel 5’s The Gadget Show, presented the Awards.

It was a house that’s quite literally to die for (it’s located in a cemetery) that won over the judges in the Best integrated home over £250,000 category, with the award going to SMC for their incredible ‘Cemetery House’ install.

This ultra modern building rose from the ground, surrounded by 19th Century graves only yards away. SMC installed the finest sounding systems within a very acoustically challenging space coupled with a fully integrated home, driven from touch screen control.

SMC was also nominated for two other recent projects. The first, a Wimbledon family home in the 'Best integrated home under £100k' category and the second nomination, Hill House, for 'Best dressed award'.

SMC recently received the 2008 'Star Select Dealer Award' from Lutron recognising their outstanding performance with Lutron products.

Two of SMC's most prestigious projects, Swains Lane and Hill House have been shortlisted for a CEDIA Award in the Best Integrated Home Over 250k category.

SMC's recent project Wimbledon Family Home has also been shortlisted in the Best Integrated Home Under 100k category.

The award winners will be announced at a gala event to be held at Vinopolis in London, on Friday 9th May.

In October, SMC won Lutron's '2006 UK Dealer of the Year Award'. Presenting the award at Lutron’s European dealer conference in Barcelona, Lutron’s vice-president of sales and marketing for Europe, Dave Odess said “This award highlights the strength of our ongoing relationship with SMC, who remain one of our most highly regarded dealers year after year. I am delighted for everyone at SMC.”

Accepting this award David Smith said "We are very pleased to have won this award for the third year in succession. SMC recently received the CEDIA 2006 award for 'Best Installation over £100,000' for their work on Ad Astra, a uniquely designed home in the North West of London. Tim Carter, who managed the project for SMC says "We are honoured that CEDIA has recognised us for this award. This project was a pleasure to manage and its success was the result of a terrific team effort from the design team, the builder and all the specialist trades involved. By working closely with the home owners to understand their requirements in detail, we were able to deliver a state of the art solution, completely tailored to their needs and they are extremely happy with the end result"

SMC was also a finalist in the 'Best Multi-Dwelling Installation' for our work at the Westcity-Wates Phillimore Square development. The project comprised of the design, supply and installation of structured wiring, Lutron HomeWorks lighting control and perimeter security in eight seven-storey town houses and 35 apartments valued at between £2 million and £11 million, together with communal access control, video entry and CCTV systems.
