Today’s modern home has various different forms of integrated technology not only inside, but outside as well and this market has grown beyond just simple audio and video options. Across the UK there are 22 million domestic gardens; big changes are taking root as we are making more of our outdoor spaces. This CPD will look at the technology options available for outdoor spaces, from lighting, wi-fi, audio, video, security and more, and help you identify how environmental conditions affect these technologies.

The course will describe the design parameters, space requirements and technology solutions typically available. It will explain the drivers behind technology change, help you to understand what’s important to your client and how best to work with a technology consultant to benefit your design and provide an update on the very latest technology trends.
DESIGNING THE CONNECTED HOME

This course is designed to help design and build professionals appreciate the benefits of home automation, systems integration and structured wiring to their clients. The aims of the course are; to showcase what is possible with integrating technology into projects, why design and build professionals should be using a CEDIA member. Along with educating architects & interior designers as to why they should be discussing technology with their clients. To provide an understanding of the basic techniques and common terminology used within Custom Installation.
This course is accredited with the BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) and the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects)
HOW TECHNOLOGY IS CHANGING THE HOME
