ISO 45001 Certified

We are really proud to announce that we have recently achieved ISO 45001 certification! SMC is a founding member of CEDIA, the trade association that governs the custom installation industry. We have had non-stop board representation at CEDIA for over 15 years and have helped set the standard for best practice throughout the industry. As a growing company, SMC recognises the need for an Integrated Management System (IMS), which ensures that our procedures are implemented and maintained to help the company retain its position as the leading systems integrator in the UK.
O

ur IMS has been externally verified since 2003 and shown to meet the requirements of ISO 9001 by LRQA, a leading UKAS accredited provider of management system certification and verification. Last year in 2022, we expanded its scope to fully incorporate all aspects of Health and Safety, and which LRQA have now verified that we also meet all the requirements of ISO 45001. This standard identifies companies that have built an effective Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management system for assessing risk and monitoring workplace activities. It helps businesses proactively prevent ill-health and harm and integrates with employee wellbeing and wellness initiatives. We’re proud to be able to demonstrate our commitment to having a positive and robust health and safety culture to protect our colleagues, and shape how in this area we work with clients, suppliers, and contractors whilst delivering simply designed, high quality installations of state-of-the-art AV and security systems

We are continually looking for ways in which we can improve upon our systems and stay ahead. We are also an active member of the British Institute of Interior Design and CPD community providing education and training to a range of architect, developers and designers. SMC’s capability to design and deliver the highest standard security systems is demonstrated by its NSI (National Security Inspectorate) accreditation. SMC has been assessed (since 2004) and found to meet the highest level of certification requirements by NSI, which is its NACOSS Gold scheme.
